Future module: tools and scenarios

Module coordinator: Maximo Torero

The objective of the module Future is to develop advanced tools that may help to improve the ability of decision makers to foresee and respond to future food and nutrition security issues and crises, and apply these in a participatory setting with decision-makers. The toolbox comprises two instruments. First, an indicator-based trigger for policy response to upcoming price-related food crises. Second, an enhanced state-of-the-art toolbox of long term global economic and biophysical models to explore possible future developments in food and nutrition security. In an interactive process with a group of international stakeholders, the toolbox will be employed to support scenario development and roadmaps towards for improving food security in the future.
