Aid, trade, and agriculture policies

Motivation
This research area provides a specification of work package 2 (drivers of FNS) and the basis for undertaking informed policy scenarios on increased policy coherence.
Research set-up and objectives
The research team analyzes, models, and measures the impact of the domestic agricultural and trade policies of major players in the world markets on food and nutrition security (US, China, Brazil). Special attention is given to the impact of EU agricultural, trade, food, energy, and development aid policies on Food and Nutrition Security - in the past and present.
Specifics
Case studies will be conducted on national policies in developing countries facing particular Food Security stress and those presenting specific features such as the development of export agriculture.
Outcome
A (historical) data base and typology.
